    What are Unitarian Universalists doing today to build upon this legacy?

  • Multicultural Education in Monolinguistic Forms?

    3393589?profile=RESIZE_320x320Is it structurally possible for liberal religious educators to achieve multicultural education when teaching and reading and writing in a single language?

    Or do monolinguistic classrooms teach students to see the world through a singular colonial looking glass and to rely on a ripped map and tarnished compass?

    Is it possible to move seamlessly among linguistic systems to achieve something that none of us can do alone?

    How do educators teach about religious liberty? Does it differ in religious and secular institutions?

    Are students in both institutional types taught about the historic significance for using religious liberty as a shield to protect the most vulnerable?

    Are they taught to recognize the shadow side of liberty, when those in power can use the sword of liberty to cause substantial harm in the name of religion?

    What do these questions say about the true nature of religious liberty?
